LEO Club
Newsflash - Penguin LEO
Club is believed to be the longest continually running LEO club in the world,
operating without interruption since September 1970!!!
The LEO club is a Lions activity. It provides a service club for young
people from 12 to 28 years old. LEO members have lots of fun and do lots of
good work at the same time. LEO members have been running an under age disco to give young
people somewhere to go and have fun.
The word LEO stands for Leadership,
Experience and
Opportunity.
Members try to follow the
purpose and objects of a LEO club.
Purpose
of the LEO club
- To promote service activities among
the youth of the community which will develop the
individual qualities of LEADERSHIP, EXPERIENCE and OPPORTUNITY.
Objects
of LEO Club
- To provide the youth of the world an
opportunity for development and contribution, individually and
collectively, as responsible members of the local, national and
international community.
- To stimulate among its members
acceptance of high ethical standards.
- To develop leadership.
- To provide experience through
service to the community.
- To provide an opportunity to promote
international understanding.
