What is the DekaDraw?
The DekaDraw is an initiative of the Penguin Lions Club to help the local schools to raise funds for identified needs within the schools. It is a competition with one draw per week over a ten week period - each week there will be three prizes drawn - a $250 cash prize and also two other prizes valued at $100 and $50. Tickets cost $10 (this enters you in all 10 draws!)
Where will the proceeds go to?
30% PENGUIN PRIMARY SCHOOL (Principal, Jim Rudling :- Our share of the funds from this great fund-raising innovative will be combined with other fund-raising conducted by our Parent Group during 2008 to help complete a substantial makeover of the early childhood playground, including shade sails and more effective drainage around the large sandpit.
30% RIANA PRIMARY SCHOOL (Principal, Sue Tucker) :- Our Parents welcome the contribution this fund-raiser will make to Riana Primary School. Funds raised from the DekaDraw will be used to continue the redevelopment of our playground equipment and environment. We thank the Lions Club for providing assistance in such a proactive way.
30% PENGUIN HIGH SCHOOL (Principal, Trudy Pearce):- Funds received by our school from the Lions Club DekaDraw will directly benefit students undertaking music studies, especially those in grades 7 & 8. We are much in need of guitars, drums and basic instruments to interest students at all stages.
10% PENGUIN LIONS CLUB (President Stewart McNeair):- We are the main organiser behind this novel event. Our small share of the proceeds will be put back into the local community to support local events such as the Christmas Parade and Christmas Carols. We are delighted to be able to work with the schools to "help them to help themself"
